MOOSE HUNTING

We do the bulk of our Moose hunting in November and hunting is excellent . The  moose have finished rutting and are concentrated in tamarack muskegs. A light snow is common at this time, and trophy bulls are easy to spot and tracks easy to find. Our area has excellent access with many oil / logging roads and countless miles of cutlines. We use four-wheel drive and all-terrain vehicles extensively. We normally invest entire days spotting cutlines, looking for high moose concentrations, or running moose pushes.

MOOSE STATISTICS

Our 12 day 1 on 1 rifle moose hunters traditionally come very close to a 100% success rate on opportunities. We’ll work hard to make it happen again next year.  Our primary area has high moose densities, controlled resident moose hunter numbers, much better access, and many areas have Bowhunting only during the rut. Our bow hunters should expect a 50% shooting success rate on the 12 day 1 on 1 hunt for moose; our rifle hunters an average close to 90%.

ELK

Elk hunting is available for the hunter wishing a challenging yet exciting & enjoyable hunting opportunity. Our area has a ever increasing herd of Elk that we bugle in during the rut. Elk hunting is open during the rut for both bow and rifle hunters in different WMU’s in our area. We also offer a November rifle Elk hunt (this makes for a superb combo with either Whitetail or Moose). At 30% on the recommended 12 day hunt our success rate is far above that of the resident hunters.

HUNT GUARANTEE

We are so confident in our hunting area and our guides that we are offering a performance guarantee. Any hunter paying full price and hunts the recommended 12 day hunt one on one hunt, who doesn't get a shooting opportunity can come the following year and repeat the same hunt for half price.

GAME BIRDS

Both ruff grouse and spruce grouse are very plentiful and are a lot of fun to hunt in the midday period whether bow or rifle hunting. Licensing for game birds is optional.

WOLF

A healthy wolf population exists in our area. Wolves are very wary and don't offer hunters a second chance, but the opportunity is there for the vigilant hunter. Licenses are available in addition to a regular big game license. Special wolf and coyote hunts are conducted in Dec./Jan.

BAG LIMIT

Additional licenses can be purchased optionally, as can a wolf/coyote and a bird game license both of which we highly recommend.

LOCATION

Our primary hunting area is located a short 2 hour drive west of the Edmonton International Airport, near the  town of Edson in the beautiful foothills, agricultural fringe area of west central Alberta. Our  hunting areas have some of the highest moose densities in the province and a large percentage of provinces larger Whitetails come from some of the WMU’s that we hunt.  Other advantages of our area include: easier / more cost effective travel arrangements for our hunters, excellent access, controlled resident numbers and Bowhunting only during the rut. We hunt the best area in Alberta for moose and an area that has excellent elk and whitetail numbers.
